A Poem About Pajama Day

At the beginning of the month our school tried something new,

Instead of reading and writing and sticking with glue,

We all came in Pajamas, excluding for a few.

As we sat in our class when third period began,

The bell suddenly rang and all the kids ran.

They dashed to the library much faster than I can!

They choose books about princesses, pirates and knights.

Then they all found a big kid and turned on the lights,

And then even the teachers thought they were beautiful sights.

Soon the ruckus and rushing was totally gone,

And the kids all sounded like birds chirping at dawn.

But as soon as everyone got comfy and began to yawn….

The bell rang again, again and again.

So looking mopey and down the kids returned to their classes,

Wondering why the teachers disintegrated the masses.

Then at the end of the day,

Before we all go away,

The bell rang again, and everyone yelled “YEY!”
